Nathan: Welcome back to Radio Gamer. Now we all started somewhere in gaming, but an awful lot of the PC Gaming Community started out with one of the most popular titles within Valve’s Steam Store, Team Fortress 2. Yes, Team Fortress has been a hugely popular title for those who wish to have fun within an FPS Title, with the amusing characters such as the Scout, Pyro, Heavy, Spy and Demoman and a whole variety of community created Maps to play in.

Alex: Today we have Sam from Valve joining us, welcome to the show Sam!

Sam: Hey, many thanks, it’s great to be here!

Alex: So, tell us, what made you guys want to start the Team Fortress 3 project over just continuing the older game?

Sam: One of the main reasons why we decided to work on a whole new title is for one very important reason. Team Fortress 2 was originally released in 2007, and some of the game engines for it date back even further. With the recent introduction of DirectX 12 and a whole variety of new gaming engines, it’s really viable to continue updating the old systems when we have so many more possibilities with the physics and graphics engines.

Alex: Are you planning any new content, or is the game just going to have some physics and graphical updates?

Sam: We are looking at some new content, and we’re increasing the support for community-made Modifications, but I can’t really say too much about what’s being planned, as we’re still very early on in the development process.

Alex: Ah, well I look forward to seeing what’s to come! We have a question in from Janet over on the Radio Gamer Forums, she asks ‘When should we expect to see the game hitting the Steam Stores’?

Sam: Well, as we’re still very early on in the development process, it’s probably take a long while before we can confirm any potential release dates. We’re trying to learn a whole new gaming engine, which is a pretty big challenge and step forward from the old engines we used, so at this time, I can’t give any specific date!

Alex: Well thanks for joining us Sam, I really can’t wait to get my hands on TF3!

Nathan: Next up on the show, Sega is announcing a whole variety of PC Versions of some of their older games - we get an exclusive chance to try out out some of these titles right after this short Ad Break!
